Support Our New Journey

From the Tropics of Okinawa to the Hotspring Wellness of Oita

The story

Haruka began offering in-person farmer’s market tours to American military families in June 2024, which later led to intimate cooking experiences with local friends in Ogimi in December 2024.

In September 2025, she officially launched the Okinawa Wellness Retreat and welcomed guests from all over the world. She had planned to stay in Ogimi for the foreseeable future. However, due to circumstances involving the house manager and owner of the retreat property, we were unexpectedly asked to move out, which began our search for a new location.

Haruka made every effort to remain in Ogimi — speaking with neighbors and even posting notices in the community — but due to the limited number of homeowners willing to rent out their vacant properties, she decided to expand her search to the Kyushu region.

During her visit from February 1st to 6th, she was deeply impressed by the abundance of fresh produce and seafood that Oita has to offer. There, she found a spacious traditional Japanese house available to rent as her new business base.

Surrounding the property are a soy sauce shop, a koji (fermented rice seasoning) shop, multiple supermarkets, and a seafood market — an ideal environment for the culinary and fermentation experiences she plans to offer.

While it is bittersweet to leave Okinawa, we are also excited to begin this new chapter and expand our business in a way that feels aligned and inspiring.

Transport & Accessibility: Effortless Journey to Wellness

We understand that reaching our previous location in Ogimi was a bit of a challenge. Our new sanctuary in Nakatsu, Oita, is designed to be easily accessible, letting you start your relaxation from the moment you land.

  • Nakatsu is conveniently located about 1 hour and 30–40 minutes from Fukuoka International Airport. It is also incredibly close to Beppu, the world-renowned hot spring city, making it the perfect add-on to your onsen trip. Nakatsu is just 30–40 minutes from Beppu Station via the Sonic Express Train.

  • Our new business location is within walking distance (approximately 20–25 minutes) from Nakatsu Station, where the express train stops.

Our new business base is located right next to this temple.
