Private Half-Day Okinawa Wellness Retreat in Ōgimi
Step Into Ōgimi — Where Cooking Meets Wellness and Every Moment Heals
✨What Sets My Retreat Apart From Others✨
✔ This isn’t a destination for me — it’s home
I don’t travel to Ōgimi for my retreats—I live here with my husband Harrison, two rescue cats, and one rescue puppy. What I share with you is part of my everyday life, and hosting this retreat is my ikigai.
✔ Deeply trained, culturally grounded care
I’m a bilingual, certified Gut Health Coach and a Japanese medicinal cooking specialist with training in Japanese fermented foods. I also hold an Okinawan Food & Safety Manager certificate and have completed an 8-week MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) course, allowing me to guide you with both knowledge and care.
✔ A bridge between cultures and ways of living
Originally from Tochigi Prefecture in mainland Japan, and having lived in Canada and England, I bring a unique perspective on health and food culture. My retreats gently blend elements of Western wellness, mainland Japanese traditions, and Okinawan wisdom, creating an experience you won’t find anywhere else.

🍂 January to March menu - Vegan-Friendly
Vegan Scallop with Okinawan Longevity Herb Sauce
We’ll coat king oyster mushrooms with potato starch and crisp up the surface to create a “vegan scallop” texture. Then I’ll pour a special sauce made with Okinawan lemon, longevity medicinal herb (Chōmeigusa), and soy sauce on top.
Winter Melon Dashi Soup
Learn how to make vegan-friendly dashi using dried mushrooms and kombu (dried kelp).
We’ll turn it into a gut-friendly, delicious soup with winter melon, finished with a touch of ginger.
Shiratama with Okinawan Black Sugar & Okinawan Orange Sauce
I will prepare shiratama (similar to mochi but with a slightly different, softer texture) and serve it with a special Okinawan black sugar and citrus sauce. Mochi is a famous Japanese dessert, but Shiratama has its own unique chewiness that I think you’ll enjoy!

Unfortunately, we’re not able to arrange that.
We understand that many visitors come to Ōgimi, known as the “longevity village,” hoping to meet centenarians and hear their stories. However, from our experience, some elders have shared that they feel tired of being asked the same questions—like “What’s your secret to longevity?”—repeatedly. We deeply respect their wish for a peaceful life. In fact, the local tourism association mentioned that in the past, some elders who hosted visitors experienced a decline in health afterward, as talking with strangers can take a lot of energy.
That said, we’re always happy to share their culture, stories, and the wisdom behind their longevity on their behalf through our wellness experiences. 🌿

Because we host only one retreat or walking tour per day and prepare everything specifically for your visit, bookings are non-refundable. Your reservation blocks the entire day for your group, and we begin preparing ingredients, materials, and the schedule as soon as you book.
For this reason, we offer Future Credit instead of refunds.
✅ Cancellations made 9+ days in advance, due to illness (notified by 48 hours before), or extreme weather may receive a credit valid for 18 months and transferable to someone else.✅ Same-day cancellations, no-shows, and late arrivals are not eligible.

Unfortunately, no. My retreat is a truly one-of-a-kind, immersive experience, limited to one group per day and offered only once or twice a week. I dedicate my full attention to each guest throughout the retreat, which includes a welcome matcha ceremony, guided meditation, hands-on cooking experience, and a wellness talk or 1:1 health coaching session.
The entire space and schedule are reserved exclusively for you, creating a calm, personalized, and deeply meaningful experience. Every detail — from sourcing high-quality ingredients to preparing my retreat home, cleaning, and guiding you through the retreat — is crafted to give you an unforgettable experience.
As a fluent English speaker, certified Gut Health Coach, certified Japanese Medicinal Cooking & Fermented Foods Specialist, graduate of an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, and Okinawa Food & Safety Manager, I bring a wealth of knowledge, skill, and care to ensure your retreat is truly transformative.
✨ Kind note: Just as you wouldn’t ask a hotel booking site for a discount, we kindly ask that you don’t negotiate pricing with us. As a small business, each retreat requires significant time, care, and attention, and we deeply value fairness and respect for the work that goes into crafting these experiences.
I designed the pricing structure so that the more people you bring to your private retreat, the lower the cost per person. If the solo or duo pricing isn’t the right fit, you’re welcome to post in local Facebook groups such as:
Sharing Okinawa — for Okinawa residents & visitors
Ladies of Kadena — for Kadena base residents
okinawa — for visitors
Okinawa for Foreigners: Life and Travel Discussions — for visitors
Okinawa Vegans and Vegetarians — for both residents and visitors
to find friends who may want to join you and help lower the per-person cost. I can accommodate up to 4 guests total.
